Frasier: how to watch, episode guide and everything we know about the Frasier reboot (1)

After signing off back in 2004 after 11 seasons and 37 Primetime Emmys, Frasier is back on TV. The Kelsey Grammer-starring Cheers spinoff forged its own legacy and now looks not only to entertain established fans of the show, but find a new audience as well as a Paramount Plus original series.

The original Frasier, which ran for more than 200 episodes from 1993 to 2004, focused on Dr. Frasier Crane after he moved back to his hometown of Seattle with his father and brother, played by John Mahoney and David Hyde Pierce, respectively, and worked as a radio psychiatrist. In addition to Grammer, Mahoney and Pierce, the series starred Jane Leeves as Daphne, Peri Gilpin as Roz and, of course, Moose as Frasier's dad's dog, Eddie.

Who is back, what is Frasier up to now and how can you watch the reboot? We've got everything you need to know about the new Frasier TV show right here.

When is the next Frasier episode?

As of December 6, all 10 episodes of the Frasier reboot are now streaming on Paramount Plus.

Frasier plot

There isn't a lot of detail provided on the Frasier reboot, but the official logline from Paramount Plus does reveal one very interesting tidbit — Frasier is leaving Seattle and heading back to Boston, where Cheers took place and the world was first introduced to the character.

Here is the complete synopsis:

"The new series follows Frasier Crane in the next chapter of his life as he returns to Boston, Mass., with new challenges to face, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill. Frasier has re-entered the building!"

The writers of the series are Chris Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Joe Cristalli (Life in Pieces). One other behind-the-scenes note, legendary TV director James Burrows, who directed multiple episodes of both Frasier and Cheers, is directing the first two episodes of the new series.

Frasier episodes

Here are the synopses for the Frasier episodes that have been released so far:

Frasier episode 1, "The Good Father"
"Following Martin's death, Frasier returns to Boston for a college lecture and to check in on his son, Freddy—whom he quickly suspects is keeping a secret from him."

Frasier episode 2, "Moving In"
"Frasier hopes to make up for lost time with Freddy, but a disagreement over where to put a small Red Sox souvenir quickly escalates into a battle of wills between father and son."

Frasier episode 3, "First Class"
"Frasier begins a new career at the university, determined to be taken seriously as an academic — but finds that a nearly 20 year stint as a daytime talk show host is not easy to escape."

Frasier episode 4, "Trivial Pursuits"
"Freddy aims to show his father that he's not 'just a firefighter,' but rather part of a noble and fulfilling cause–then picks the worst possible day to invite Frasier to the firehouse."

Frasier episode 5, "The Founder's Society"
"Frasier joins Alan and Olivia as they seek membership in the university's prestigious 'Founders' Society.' Meanwhile, David digs into Freddy's personal life for a surprising reason."

Frasier episode 6, "Blind Date"
"Eve agrees to set both Frasier and Freddy up on blind dates — but when both women are expected on the same evening, father and son start to turn on each other."

Frasier episode 7, "Freddy's Birthday"
"Frasier discovers that Freddy has been seeing Lilith behind his back, setting up a battle between the two exes for their grown son's affection."

Frasier episode 8, "The B Story"
"While Frasier attempts to convince the university’s provost to grant him full professor status, David faces a horrific, life-shattering crisis which will take all of Freddy’s help to get him through: his first-ever B."

Frasier episode 9, "The Fix Is In"
"When Freddy complains about being treated like a child, Frasier suggests that he help deal with some repairs around the apartment. But then guess what? Things get more complicated!"

Frasier episode 10, "Reindeer Games"
"On Christmas Eve, Freddy stretches himself to be there for both Frasier, who's coping with Martin's death by throwing a lavish party, and Eve, who's hiding out at home dealing with her own loss."

Frasier cast

It wouldn't be Frasier without Kelsey Grammer, without question the actor's most recognizable role. Grammer played Frasier Crane first on Cheers for more than 200 episodes before the spinoff of the character went on for 11 seasons of its own. He won four Emmys for his performance. Other notable roles in Grammer's career include voicing Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons and his 2023 new movie Jesus Revolution.

The new Frasier cast includes Jack Cutmore-Scott (Deception) as Frasier's son Freddy; Nicholas Lyndhurst (Only Fools and Horses) as Frasier's old college buddy turned university professor Alan; Toks Olagundoye (Castle) as Alan's colleague and head of the university psychology department, Olivia; Jess Salguerio (The Boys) as Freddy's girlfriend, Eve; and Anders Keith, making his TV debut, as Frasier's nephew, David.

A couple of Frasier veterans are also expected to pop up at some point in the season: Bebe Neuwirth's Lilith Stern, Frasier's ex and Freddy's mother, and Peri Gilpin as Roz.
